Just a few days ago the Walt Disney Company released its new on-demand digital video streaming service, Disney +, which houses the entire Disney video library including Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and Pixar films. Plus, it features additional original movies and shows produced by the company. ( Lady in the Tramp live-action immediately went on my watch list)
This morning, our son woke up with a fever and is relegated to the couch. So, we figured it was as good a time as any to sign up and check it out.
Within 30 seconds, I was sold.
Movies that are either expensive to purchase or hard to find, plus new favorites are all housed together in one place. The price point of $6.99/month isn’t bad either.
He is currently enjoying a Star Wars Marathon as I write this.
To try Disney +, the site already offers a free 7 day trial period. However, I discovered a money-saving hack to extend the value!
I have mentioned before that sites that offer rewards and cash back are a great way to get rewards for travel if you do a lot of online shopping.
Rakuten (formerly ebates) is a cash back program that allows you to earn a percentage of what you spend back in rewards, which is paid out after you meet just $5 in cash back. You can have the money deposited via PayPal or sent in the form of a check to your home address.
When you order Disney+ through Rakuten, you get up to $10 back!
Here is how you do it:
1) Sign Up With Rakuten-I am so grateful if you use my referral code. ( You’ll get ANOTHER $10 just for joining)
If you already are a Rakuten user…just log in.
2) Search for Disney+ in the search bar
3) Select “Shop Now”
4) Rakuten will then direct you to Disney+ where you can sign up to start.
$7.50 Cash Back on Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ Bundle Subscription
$5.00 Cash Back on Disney+ Monthly Subscription
This means that current Rakuten users can at least get $5 back and new users can get at least $15. New users who register for an annual plan ($69.99) can earn $20 cash back. That’s just a little over $4 a month for EVERYTHING Disney can offer.
Sounds pretty magical to me.
If you sign up, let me know in the comments and tell me what you think of Disney + !
