You CAN catch the Magic Kingdom fireworks for FREE.
When we first moved to Florida, we were still figuring out our new budget, salaries, higher rent and had not yet splurged on Disney tickets.
But, I couldn’t wait to go see the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom and share that time with my family.
So, I started asking around to determine if there was a place where you can experience the fireworks without having to actually be in the park.
There is.
Actually, there are a few. You can view the fireworks from locations at all three of the resorts on the monorail loop: The Grand Floridian, The Polynesian and The Contemporary.
Side Note: You can typically park at the resorts for free for up to 3 hours. However, on nights when they are fully booked or during peak seasons, they may tell you that you can’t unless you have a dinner reservation. If that happens, head to the ticket and transportation center and just take the monorail.
Hanging out on the beach of the Polynesian with a fruity drink or Dole Whip is a popular option.
However, my favorite choice is to head to the Contemporary.

For a prime viewing experience, you can book a meal at the California Grill, and view the fireworks display directly from your table or has from the restaurant’s own observation deck.
But that would require purchasing a meal…and I promised you a free secret.
I try to keep my promises.
So, for frugal folk like you and I, head to the 4th-floor concourse, walk past the gift shop at the north end of the concourse and you’ll be able to see some doors that go out to a free, public balcony that offers a great viewing experience of the Magic Kingdom Fireworks, no park ticket required.
